Description

VITA EMME Complex is a food supplement based on L-5-methyltetrahydrofolate, the metabolically active form of folic acid, combined with betaine, glutathione and B vitamins. It provides nutrients involved in the physiological processes that regulate homocysteine metabolism.

Homocysteine is a sulfur containing amino acid naturally produced in the body from methionine, an essential amino acid obtained through the diet from foods such as meat, eggs, milk and legumes. Its production and removal depend on the activity of several enzymes, including MTHFR and CBS, as well as folic acid and certain B vitamins such as B6 and B12, which act as enzyme cofactors. Elevated homocysteine levels may be influenced by genetic factors or other physiological conditions and involve a complex network of biochemical reactions.
